The Brief

**The Brief**

Alaska Peninsula drift-gillnet salmon permits—S 01M and S 03M—lost half their time-weighted estimated value year-over-year, closing the week at $88,300 and $82,000 respectively. S 01M fell 31.4 percent month-over-month alone. The declines follow two consecutive poor sockeye runs and persistent cost pressure on fuel and tender services. Meanwhile, Prince William Sound drift-gillnet permits (S 03E) dropped 36.2 percent year-over-year to $49,900, and Kodiak set-gillnet permits (S 04K) shed 39.5 percent to $29,900. The pattern is consistent: limited-entry salmon permits tied to underperforming districts are repricing sharply downward as holders exit or consolidate.
